The US Constitution
Backbone of our Democracy
Certain groups of extremists, most notably far right wing political/religious groups, have been working over time to subvert and steal our Constitution for their own agenda. They have been successful in promoting their agenda by holding "constitutional seminars" around the nation...inviting people to attend then spewing outright lies and false information. This succeeds when those in attendance have never bothered to read this remarkable document.
One of the more insidious groups holds meeting titled "The Substance and Meaning of the Constitution". Sadly one of those who author and deliver this gross distortion of the Constitution is an actual Judge in Arizona. He is following the guidelines of a radical-right wing "foundation" know as "National Center for Constitutional Studies" which lives in a small rural town of less than 200 persons. They mange to bring in Moses, The lost tribes of Israel and all manner of strange deviations from the truth as being part of our Constitution with no evidence to support any such claims.
From a First Amendment standpoint, this is fine. They have that right. But as should be the case with any thing you attend or listen to regarding our Constitution, you need to look at these discussions with a sceptics eye and after you have read our constitution through at least three times. Think about the words. It may seem to be dull reading but when you apply your mind to the meaning in that document, you will come away with a very enlightened perspective from which to judge what others are trying to tell us. This "constitutional destruction" depends on ignorance to succeed.
